On the front page of the Stock Selection Guide (SSG) look at the lines created when the end of year data is connected with lines. One wants to see sales and EPS that are increasing (Up) in value, that are consistent (Straight) from year to year, and that seem to move in the same direction in the same order of magnitude (Parallel). REASONING: An indication of the quality of a company can be determined by the consistency by which they are able to manage and grow the business. These two factors are represented in sales and EPS.
